Programmatic advertising fail

I’m on the eBay app. It has three ads on it.

  • an ad for the exact credit card that I already pay my eBay Bill with
  • an ad for the exact same phone that I am using right now to use the eBay app
  • an ad for the Uber app, the exact same one which I have installed on this phone

At some point, someone somewhere is going to ask whether any of this is actually a sensible use of their money and my attention.

Aren’t they?
