Radio is ‘more than just a tower’

My friend Jonathan Marks recently went to visit Leo Laporte’s operation in California, and got an interview with Leo and some of the backroom team.
He got a fascinating, twenty minute interview, a look around the ‘TWiT Cottage’, and a chat to the team that run all the technology – from the stuff within the studios, to the websites and the iPhone apps. The size of that team may surprise you.
Of most interest are the actual numbers behind the business: Leo mentions his turnover, some of his costs, and you get a sense of how the operation works. Leo streams video and audio from the house: guess which pays the bills?
If you’ve twenty minutes in your day – or you’re interested how the future of radio might look – then pop over and watch it. (In HD, if you want, too.)
