Interesting job alert

One of the surprising successes of my little Media UK website has been the jobs board, where anyone can post any media-related job. For free. It’s fast becoming one of the most popular areas of the site.

One particularly interesting role that’s popped up recently in the radio jobs section has been Platform Development Manager at Global Radio, the owner of female-friendly Heart, dance station Galaxy, Virgin Radio wannabe The Arrow, and talk station LBC (above). This role looks fascinating:

Reporting to the Managing Director of Digital Platforms, the Platform Development Manager will develop Global Radio’s presence on digital platforms and ensure our content is available on new platforms such as social networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of three software developers and will coordinate communication and website developments across the Global Radio Interactive and Marketing departments.

Fascinating for two reasons – first, because that’s a plum job in one of the UK’s most brand-aware and content-rich radio groups, and second because they’re specifically interested in reaching out to new audiences through new networks, like Facebook et al.

Good for Global. And good for you, too, if you go for it.

Blatant plug: if you go to the bottom of the radio jobs page, there’s a form to fill out to get those jobs sent to you every morning; or you can get the RSS feed if that’s easier.

PS: BBC Audio & Music Interactive are also looking for people, if you’re a) senior, and b) content.
