Free media news – via Twitter

Posted on Saturday, December 6th, 2008 at 2:33pm. #

In case you didn’t know – the website I work on at home, Media UK, has an aggregated news section that you might find useful. There’s radio news, tv news and press/publishing news from a variety of sources. They’re updated every ten minutes.

You can also follow those news sources on Twitter if you wish: @mediaukradio, @mediauktv and @mediaukpress. (The @mediaukpress feed went a little awry last weekend, so apologies if you were affected by that: it’s back to normal now).

The scripts used are fairly comprehensive, but if you are aware of news sources that Media UK’s missing, please do get in touch. Similarly, if you’d like news updates on other services you use, please do let me know.

It’s just occurred to me that every service I seem to be randomly plugging recently, like Pownce and iwantsandy, appear to be closing down. In case there’s a jinx that needs to be broken, that’s why I’m promoting my own site. In case the jinx is unbreakable, I plan to promote the hell out of I’m a celebrity get me out of here and Microsoft Outlook. For all our sakes.

Are you syndicating paidContent:UK? If not, would you like to? The feed URL is http://feeds.paidcontent.co.uk/pcuk/
