Filth

That up there is the crapulent new London 2012 logo. Something Seth Godin calls ‘just a jaggy picture‘. He’s nearly dead right.
But a colleague pointed out today that this image is, well, ah, a little rude.
She explained – that’s a girl on the right hand-side, and she’s kneeling down and, um, making the chap on the left very happy. (My mother reads this blog, you know.)
If I might be so bold – I don’t like this new bright-pink fellatio-themed logo, and much prefer the very British and classy logo underneath. Can we have it back, please, and can we sack the filth-merchant who produced the new logo? It sucks. Literally.

(Later: Adam points out this possibly not safe for work link at B3ta.)

Don’t know if anyone else remembers, but the logo for the Candidate City bid was actually the result of a ‘Design a Logo’ competition launched by Barbara Cassani back in 2003. They had over 1,000 entries and (I believe) the prize for the winner was £10,000. Kino Design were the company that did it and you can see more of their work here: http://www.kinodesign.co.uk/
Also, here’s a rather nice picture of it wrapped like a ribbon round St Mary’s Axe: http://38one.com/cleverblog/london-2012-logo – which, as Denis Radenkovic says in his blog, demonstrates its flexibility.
