BBC staff blog list removal; and my next move

BBC staff blog list archived

In September 2007, while I worked for the Corporation, I added a BBC staff with blogs list here, and to Google Reader. I’ve kept this going since leaving the BBC in September 2009; but have just removed it. The BBC Internet Blog no longer links to it either, so it’s probably time to retire it.

If you miss it, and want to add it to your own Google Reader, you can import this OPML file. It’s out of date, probably, and certainly many have moved on, but it might give you some interesting blogs to read. (I’m still following a few: yay, Tom Scott, Tristan Ferne, and others.) Note, as always, that these are just links to blogs run by BBC employees, and not anyone speaking on behalf of the BBC.

I have also unshared my ‘BBC official blogs’ list from the public. I don’t plan to produce an OPML file for this; it’s moderately easy to discover these blogs from the BBC website, where they all live – bbc.co.uk/blogs/ will do the trick for that.

What’s my next move?

It’s been nice catching up with some old (commercial radio) friends tonight – and meeting some new ones. Many have asked what I’ll be doing in mid-February, when I can officially work again for a competing broadcaster ( = “officially work again”, given my tight industry expertise). Truth is, I’ve no idea yet; though much of February and March is beginning to fill with conference speaking and workshops, for which I’m very grateful. Here’s how to get in touch if you’ve any neat ideas; and here’s my CV in case you’ve not the faintest idea who I am.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
