I don’t work for the BBC: but I do work for the media, and therefore the abduction of this fine journalist is a cause for concern.
Stuart Hughes has posted this graphic, which I thought could do with some wider distribution, lest we forget.
You can link to this image by linking to http://s3.mediauk.com/alanjohnston.png where I have mirrored it on my Amazon S3 space for all to use.
Update: I’m linking this to here – which will show the latest news on the situation. Feel free to do that, too; or to the petition.

I don’t work for the BBC either but I am behind this campaign because Alan’s current situation highlights the dangerous conditions under which some journalists work in order to report on what is really happening in the world.
It is also good to learn that the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate are holding solidarity marches and other demonstrations in Gaza in an attempt to free Alan Johnston.
Reports claim that Alan is “alive and well”, so let us hope that he is soon released, unharmed, and able to return to his family, friends and colleagues.
There is a petition on the BBC News website – http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/6518185.stm
