The Aldeburgh lifeboat, out on a training exercise, last Sunday. The original’s here.
My photography
Meat Katie - Sessions [Amazon.co.uk]
This CD album, coming out on August 11th, has a splendid photo on the cover, taken by a hugely talented photographer. Er, ah. Actually: me, slightly the worse for wear, balancing a cheap point-and-shoot camera on a bollard. Cool. Can't wait, won't wait: the first time any of my photos have been properly published.
Playa de Aldeburgh en Inglaterra
Three of my recent pictures of Aldeburgh in this one… though not the one I’ve used here.
Great pubs - the local boozer
A nice piece about pubs in London; illustrated by a picture of beer from, erm, ah, my house.
Beer news
Stella firm buys Budweiser brewer [BBC News]
Interesting - will it now be Belgian firm InBev fighting Czech firm Budvar? InBev also produces Leffe, Hoegaarden, and many other speciality beers; good to see those in the US, I guess.
Broadcast stuff
The latest on our audio improvements [BBC Radio Labs]
Another dull blog post from me. But interesting if you're keen to understand what the BBC is doing regarding audio online.
The Colbert Bump - TV advertising works, folks [Blog of Metrics]
Stephen Colbert mentions Firefox 3… and significantly adds to the downloads of the browser. Really interesting.
Last night's TechCrunch / BBC debate on a 'Common Platform' - currybetdotnet - 26 June, 2008
"James Cridland and Jem Stone both put the defence case for the BBC - that it has done a lot more than it is given credit for." - a good writeup of the BBC TechCrunch debate I was a panellist for
