Another Tesco story. I went to Tesco Express on Clifton Road, London W9 this morning. I bought one sandwich and a bottle of water. I was asked "Do you have a clubcard?" three times while making this one transaction. Is this a record?

Hmmm. Black and slinky. I quite like. I know next to nothing about radios however. As long as I can get radio 2 in the morning and radio 4 at 6:30, I don't really care :)

(Hello by the way - found you in a roundabout way through the BBC via Twitter)

Where that Amazon page says "Add new features as they become available via USB" - hopefully that includes DAB+ support?

Because at the moment (admittedly I know more about digital radio than the average person) I'd be reluctant to spent £45 on a new radio, however nice, when I knew it wouldn't be future proof.

There was a report from a year ago suggesting 80% of Pure's radios would be DAB+ compatible (extra 10-15 Euros, plus a similar amount again for downloading the software upgrade, which I think is a bit rich) by end of 2008.

I rather think what needs to happen here is the BBC and C4 need to reach some arrangement, perhaps if C4 aren't broadcasting as many channels as they intended to they could broadcast in both formats, or the spare capacity could be used for DAB+ versions of the BBC radio channels audiophiles are always complaining about.

Again however, I read (admittedly in The Register) that Ofcom had prevented the second national multiplex using anything other than MP2. What a mess..

I recently bought a Technika DAB radio (not the same as the one above) for £15 in Tesco for my kitchen. It's selling on Tesco Direct for double that at the moment.

Brilliant little thing - picks up the signal much much better than my previous DAB/CD combo.. which you might be interested to know that my cat destroyed..!
