Good posting from Nick Piggott:

The sum total of content management systems in any organisation should be one. No higher, no lower. One.

Couldn’t agree more.

Of course, since I’m not technically working for anyone at the moment, I may just have slightly too much time to read blogs… (grin)

Well, I’m not claiming GCap Media fits that bill either - but one can set goals and vision and work tirelessly towards them. And then retire with a gold clock.

LOL @ Martin. How true. Needless to say, the BBC has more than a few CMSs (of which, I’ve worked on a few).

Generally the CMSs that try to be all things to all people are too complex and slow (to use and develop for), and everything else is too specialised to be useful to anyone other than the people that made it. I think we’re going to be heading for a happy medium.
