Oliver Cross writes in the Yorkshire Evening Post today:

“Radio 4 is broken on our DAB Digital Radio, and now we can only get Radio Aire, which is the way forward to madness.”

Not listened to Radio Aire for a while, but I think he might be a little harsh.

I’m currently on a train to Harrogate, hence why I saw it. The paper also has a story about an “upmarket sandwich shop”, which we later discover is none-other than Pret a Manger. Eee, them reet posh southerners wi’ their ham and greve baguettes, silly buggers.

Yorkshire - home of “tinternet” and “eeee, mail”! Why is Radio 4 broken on his DAB Digital Radio, or is it just actively filtering daft southerners wit’ their posh voices?

It brings to mind that great Katherine Tate sketch where the snobby northerners complain about a brie and grape baguette. “The dirty bastards!”

I have heard BBC Radio Nottingham presenters labelling both Debenhams and M&S as “posh shops”.
