Itemroll - not blogroll

If you’re reading this on my website and on the front page of my blog, you’ll spot that the huge great big list of blogs that I subscribe to - commonly known as a blogroll, is now removed from that right-hand column.
I’ve done that for a few reasons. Firstly, the list that appeared there was an export from Google Reader - but there’s no way of doing that automatically, so it became more and more out-dated. Secondly, apparently I subscribe to 141 feeds, and that kind of list isn’t useful any more. And third, many of the lists I subscribe to are dormant: Martin Kelner hasn’t updated his blog since April 2006, and the Windows Mobile team haven’t bothered since November 2005.
So, I nicked Robert Scoble’s idea of a ‘linkblog’. Robert just links to his Google Reader shared items feed, but I don’t really feel that makes sense - you’re leaving my site to do that, and what happens when Google change things? So instead, while I still compile my list in the same way (hit ’shift-s’ in Google Reader), I’m reading in my RSS feed automatically and using it instead of a blogroll here. I like the idea of calling it a itemroll. So I will.
It, too, has an RSS feed if you’d like to subscribe to what I have enjoyed reading.
